Worldguide.com is disappointing!

== Disappointed with Worldguide.com ==I don't understand how come I didn't come across the site Worldguide.com! I was surprised to see how useful it could be. But after I went through a few pages on this site I got the answer for my question. I work as a Web designer and I am deeply involved in the Look and Feel, Usability and accessibility issues on the projects I work on. When I reviewed Worldguide.com through a web designer's perspective I found many flaws with not many good things on this website. * I liked the "Concept" behind this website. You can see many important things related to your day-to-day life on the home page itself, which is good. I could see that there have not been many efforts at the backend for creating this site. This is a plug-n-play kind of site just like we create Blogs on Blogger or Wordpress. This website is created using a number of widgets available free on the internet.* On the Worldguide.com page, you will see a WeatherBug widget where you can search your City and it will display the weather conditions in your city. Next to that is another widget from Yahoo! which displays the Stock Indices information and chart with some of the Latest News from the Markets. Again, this is a Yahoo! widget and it fetches all the content from Yahoo! * On the left hand side of the screen you will see a number of countries listed with their National Flags. All these Country names take you to a Search Result Page generated using Google Search, the Search Keyword is obviously the name of the Country you clicked on. Again, this is something you can find directly on Google; you don't need Worldguide.com for this!* In the center of the page you will see a couple of Tabs like 'Top Stories', 'U.S.', 'World' etc; which would display Latest News items (another code snippet used to display this!) from different topics. There also is an 'Internet Search', 'Google Maps', 'Calendar', and other financial tickers on this page, not to forget the Google Adsense ;). * All these things you can find on your own Yahoo or iGoogle page! Or on Google desktop. I do give the credit for creating a single page by integrating all the possible free code into one page and creating this site which 'could' be of use to some people but I personally didn't find anything interesting on this site. Nothing that I make me visits it twice.* From the Graphics and styling perspective also, I didn't find the site attractive. The Graphics, colors, layout gave me a feeling that this is an ancient site without any updates. I liked the site name, URL. But I think the creator of this site could have made this a great website with a lot of traffic flowing in. The site's name itself would market it for itself. Overall I am disappointed.
