I agonized over the purhase of such an expensive vacuum. But I can truthfully say I am in love with it. It works just as claimed both the company I purchassed it from Hammacher Schlemmer Co and the Dyson Company cannot do more to help with any problem. I have three cats one Maine Coon long hair. Hair is a constant problem. but not since I got my Dyson. My only complaint is that it does not have a carry bag or pouch to hold all the attachments that is the biggest design flaw and my only compplaint.

I bought a Dyson Animal about 2 year ago, primarily to get all of the cat hair off the floor (other vacuums we owned failed to do this). It works really great! It does pick up cat hair and lots of other oddball things that usally were left there after we vacuumed with other cleaners. I found it a little difficult to work with in the beginning, such as the hose release button and a few others (I always seemed to be "undoing" something I didn't want "undone". But I've mastered it now, and really love the long cord, and the hose/nozzle which reaches really far and makes getting in corners/edge a breeze. This is a great vacuum, I highly recommend it!

I use this vacuum for the carpet and rugs around our house. It is fantastic! It is lightweight and can be used by my 10 year old son for his weekly chores. This is a much better purchase than the heavier vacuums we have had in the past and did not want to pull out because of the bulkiness. Very easy to use!

Best for your Money

I have used this vacuum for about two years now. I only use this vacuum on hard floors (tile and hard wood). The am about 70% satisfied with the upright vacuum for crumbs and dust, thought sometimes I have to make a few passes before it grabs the mess. The hand-held vacuum is very useful for counter tops and spot cleaning. The plastic tubing on the upright vacuum developed holes in it, and I had to order a replacement from Electrolux because I wasn't getting sufficient suction when using the upright. They were easy to work with and my replacement part arrived in a timely manner. Overall I would recommend this product.
