My preferred player
Review of Microsoft Zune 80 GB by Bethany

Advantages: Large screen size, lots of storage space.
Disadvantages: Charge doesn't last long enough

I love my Zune. The screen is larger than the video iPod. It is easier to navigate than the iPod's touch system. I love the enormous amount of storage space. The sound quality is great as is the video quality. I do have a couple issues with it though. A fully charged Zune doesn't last me all day at work. Unfortunately three quarters of the way through my day it is done for and I have to switch to my smaller Zen. I couldn't figure out a way to just ... Read review

Microsoft Zune 30 GB Brown
Review of Microsoft Zune 30 GB by GeekGuy

Advantages: Easy to use, lots of neat features
Disadvantages: Initial setup could be difficult

I was looking for an all around video/audio player, and I found it. The Zune with the most current software is my favorite geek device of all. I've used iPod's before and they're okay, but they were more expensive. The Zune and with it's updated software allows me to download music, podcast, videos and tv shows. It even has a built in FM radio (which doesn't work as well as I hoped.) The best part is that I can wirelessly synch it to my laptop. ...
...to hook it up to my TV yet, but I plan too. The battery life is around 5 hours with wireless enabled. With the wireless disabled around 8 hours, perfect for a work day. (Or jury duty) One of the problems that I originally had was that after I took it out of the box it froze a lot, but that was resolved when I let it charge overnight. A second problem that occurs it that it will randomly shutdown. A little internet researching and I found that it ... Read review

Great iPod alternative
Review of Microsoft Zune 30 GB by rampancy

Advantages: Lots of storage, good navigation, matte surface, easy to use
Disadvantages: No wall charger, low battery life, hard to shut off

...long after this was released, Microsoft released newer models that replace the buttons in the front with an easier, sleeker touch-interface. I still have the older model as pictured here. It is twice as thick as the newer models, and it does not support wireless syncing with your computer. The Zune is a very cheap alternative to the iPod. When it first came out I paid around $199 for a 30GB. You can now find great deals across the country if you ...
...new stuff right now. That's good for you if you want a good mp3 player comparable to Apple's products without breaking the bank. The Zune has a very sleek matte finish in whatever color that you choose, unlike the iPod's chrome backing. This lessens the fingerprints that you will get on your player. Fingerprints on electronics or anything with a glossy surface is a pet peeve of mine. No matter what color you get (mine is black), you won't see any ... Read review

Dissapointing. Ipod 30gb.
Review of Apple iPod 30 GB by kezereth

Advantages: Great picture and sound quality
Disadvantages: breaks if you blow on it.

I have now owned three of these ipods and all of them malfunctioned within 6 months of having them. For a start this didn't encourage me to own anything made by Apple. The players do have their good points. You cannot fault the sound quality of the players, nor can you fault their easy access menus and the click wheel system is just genius. I find that their color screen is also of a good clear crisp quality. However, i still cannot get over the ...
...a poory made product, that isn't designed to last. The slightest tap on it and it seems to go wrong, which suggests to me that it isn't designed for the hussle and bussle of everyday life. I therefore think that this player cannot be justified at it's price of over £100. It doesn't make for good value for money, when frankly (as i have found out ) you can make more money by selling your faulty player on ebay for spares! ... Read review
