...in my life. HP support replaced the screen - same thing. The problem is with the screen - not with the driver or graphics card. This laptop has "the best" 17" WUXGA anti-glare non-glossy display HP has to offer + NVIDIA Quadro 1600 graphics card with 512MB memory. Tried several drivers - same horrible quality. When attached to external monitor looks fine. But if I have to have an external monitor, - why use laptop? This is especially frustrating ...
...this laptop is touted by HP as ideal for 2D/3D graphics design and modeling. Nothing could be further from the truth. This is simply false advertisement on HP part. HP on-site "next day" "business critical" is support simply horrific. It took two weeks for the person to appear on site (he was supposed to be there next day after I reported the problem according to on-site service contract), did not fix the problem (well the problem is not fixable ... This laptop is a very nice little device, which has the whole package, and is definately worth its price. I really like how the edges were rounded, because it does make a difference believe it or not, and you will realise that after you have tried. Resting your wrists on the edge has become so much more comfortable than other computers which have jagged and sharp edges that can turn out unpleasent, and sometimes even numb your hands if you press ... ...it removes all the files. Sony builds fine hardware but has many problems in writing good software for peripherals. When I bought this machine the was no option to buy without the junk software. The other problem is that SONY DOES NOT GIVE YOU DISK MEDIA FOR THE OS. The OS is on a hidden drive. I need a small, portable and high performance laptop that I could carry around with me without feeling like I was toting around a small baby. Disadvantages: Gets dirty easily, could use a longer battery life

I've had my MacBook since December of 2006 and it's still works great. It's a lot faster than my HP PC desktop at work (which stresses me out it's so slow sometimes) and it just looks and feels cooler. I also love its ability to look up any wireless signal and connect, without having to go into any control panels or setup wizards. Graphics are great - really easy to watch DVDs, videos, etc. I also love the programs it came with like Garage Band and ...
...of dirty easily. iChat is also really cool because MacBook comes with a built-in web cam that allows you to see your friends while you're chatting... Overall, I love it and couldn't live without it!
