Decent GPS
Review of Magellan Maestro 3250 by bboothe83

Advantages: Price, Where Am I Feature
Disadvantages: Power Source is Low Quality

My top three favorite features are: 1. It says the street name. Lots of models will just tell you to turn in "approximately .2 miles", which can get really tricky in a residential area, especially because the gps is accurate only within around 50 feet, so estimating .2 miles can be rough. 2. "Where am I?" Ever find a hole-in-the-wall restaurant you love, or a grocery store with perfect produce? With this feature, the gps can actually pinpoint your ...
...book. Also a great feature if your car breaks down and you need someone to bring you some gas. 3. AAA locations. I love this. Especially useful for snowy days when you need to stay at a hotel in some podunk town you never would have thought to make a reservation in. As a AAA member, I'm extremely satisfied with this feature, although it's useful to nonmembers too. ... Read review

Awesome talking GPS system.
Review of Magellan Maestro 4200 by st0rmy

Advantages: Great quality, clear screen, easy to use, all out exceptional
Disadvantages: NONE! :D

...want, I really love this Magellan Maestro 4200 GPS receiver. This has been one of my best purchases in the past year, the screen is nice and clear, the street names are always correct, it will redirect you if you happen to take the wrong turn some where. It also announces out loud where you should go, so you can safely drive with your hands on the wheel and your eyes on the road. The design in itself is even really nice, it's sleek and compact and ... Read review

Good Midrange GPS
Review of Magellan Maestro 4250 by bboothe83

Advantages: Widescreen, Touchscreen
Disadvantages: Price

This product gets the job done, but there are a few shortcomings. First; you are unable to transfer address information from your computer to the GPS. Second; Voice command is limited to a few commands, which are convenient; Third; I found it difficult to navigate the website for map updates. Customer service numbers are not available on the web sight so its frustrating to figure things out. Fourth: Make sure you have your car charger with you. Battery ... Read review

Versatile GPS at a reasonable price
Review of Garmin GPSMAP 96 by shibainudogpersn

Advantages: Compact, useful for all journeys
Disadvantages: None encountered so far

GARMIN GPSMAP 96 I was chatting with an aviation chum the other day about the pros and cons of the various GPS units out there. Due to parkinsonism I no longer fly and learned at a time when GPS for the private pilot was a mere gleam in its inventors eye! A lot of pilots are very sceptical that newbies are relying far too much on GPS systems for navigation, rather than building on the basics (wizz-wheel, maps etc) so that they encounter difficulty ...
...right as my friend, who is a learner of this new-school, told me that without the basics the use of GPS is like cooking with a microwave without knowing about flavour, i,e,, it can be done but isn't really worthwhile. This GPS unit (see the manufacturers spec for full description of what it can do) is, I am told, extremely easy to use with a very user-friendly interface. It has multiple way-points and comes pre-loaded with the Jeppesen database ... Read review

Garmin Nuvi 200
Review of Garmin nüvi 200 by chrome

Advantages: easy to use
Disadvantages: ---

...exposed. The name of Garmin has convinced me, and I believe that in recent times has exceeded its famous + competitor. After a wander among the showcase where they were exposed boaters, and after a careful reading of characteristics, I decided: Garmin Nuvi 200 ... ****** Features: I chose because it was one of the few in which they are loaded not only maps of Italy but across Europe. >>> Display touchscreen size of 2.8x2.1 inches, very clear ...
...good results (the variation increases or decreases of 10%). >>> Installation very simple, in the package is the support windy with easy assembly (2 pieces to fit in) recharges directly by cigar-lighter, and then with a voltage 12V. On the left side you can insert the memory card It works by jpeg viewer. In fact already are loaded by default certain backgrounds that can be viewed as ignition or when things are going in stand-by Lights up with ... Read review
