This is a very thin GPS which is good since it does not take up a lot of room. It is fine for people who need something to give them directions when in unfamiliar territory. It tells you when to turn like as in 500 feet 200 feet 50 feet. Who can possibly strain to read a street name while in traffic? GARMIN GPSMAP 96 I was chatting with an aviation chum the other day about the pros and cons of the various GPS units out there. Due to parkinsonism I no longer fly and learned at a time when GPS for the private pilot was a mere gleam in its inventors eye! ...it is waterproof so there are no worries about ruining it in the water..in fact I frequently rinse it off in the nearby rivers.
