Advantages: Good graphical quality etc Disadvantages: no road names
After using this product for some time now I would like to write a review on it to warn potential buyers. This is similar to another review on this unit and he was very right in what he said. In general, this gadget is just not accurate enough.
When I am driving, it looks cool and high techy but thats pretty much the only completely positive aspect about it!
It is very difficult to follow at times because there arent road names just directions ...

Advantages: size, userfriendly, all-purpose navigation Disadvantages: pricing for device and maps, map-activation
The Garmin GPSMAP 60 CSx is the extended Version of the GPSMAP 60 Cx. While the case is same size and format, the CSx shows up with a barometric altimeter and an electronic compass. I use it for several purposes. Traveling statistics, autorouting, topo/directions and waypoint navigation are those functions I mainly use. The intuitive interface helps to use the software without having to read the manual.
A basemap is installed ex factory, with the ... ...on 'bad roads'). Unfortunately, Garmin doesn't offer a mounting for motocycles, so I had to get a 3rd party retainer from Europe (Touratech)

All in all, the CSx60 with the right maps and accessories is a great ...

GARMIN GPSMAP 96
I was chatting with an aviation chum the other day about the pros and cons of the various GPS units out there. A lot of pilots are very sceptical that newbies are relying far too much on GPS systems for navigation, rather than building on the basics (wizz-wheel, maps etc) so that they encounter difficulty ... ...right as my friend, who is a learner of this new-school, told me that without the basics the use of GPS is like cooking with a microwave without knowing about flavour, i,e,, it can be done but isn't really worthwhile.
This GPS unit (see the manufacturers spec for full description of what it can do) is, I am told, extremely easy to use with a very user-friendly interface. It has multiple way-points and comes pre-loaded with the Jeppesen database ...
