Review of Sony a (alpha) DSLR-A200K by Manda

Advantages: Great for out doors
Disadvantages: none yet

This camera, along with looking good, is pretty cheap for its quality. It's great for taking along hiking or camping; this is primarily an outdoor camera. It takes okay indoors, but much better outdoors. The flash settings aren't the best, but when the flash is turned off is when you get the best quality from this camera. As a photographer, I use this camera mostly for the outdoors, but on occasion I have used it for family holidays and other indoor ... Read review

Sony's new DSLR is picture perfect...
Review of Sony a (alpha) DSLR-A300K by bigwerd07

Advantages: Ease of use, lots of features, and great look
Disadvantages: So many features make me feel lost sometimes. Seems to be very fragile.

...needed a new camera, and Sony is a name I trust in all my electronics. I looked on Crutchfield.com and found the Sony A300K. It first grabbed my attention because of its nice, sleek look. Then I found out it had 10.2 Megapixels. That seemed like a quality picture. Now, I am no too much of a camera expert, but I know my last camera had 5 MP, so this sounded like quite the upgrade. I read some good things about it and decided to buy it. It arrived ...
...with the deer in the headlights look....so many buttons....so many features....so little camera knowledge!! I read the manual to get myself started. It actually helped out a lot! In no time, I was taking some test pictures of my kids. I was amazed at the focus and the picture quality. It seemed I picked a good camera! I tried out the Manual Focusing, and I wasn't very good at it, so I stuck with auto focus. If you are a camera expert, you can probably ... Read review

Sony alpha DSLR-A350
Review of Sony a (alpha) DSLR-A350 by hehethegreat

Advantages: Unique Mechanism, Auto Focus Improvements
Disadvantages: Still Expensive

Sony with the high brand level launch alpha DSLR-A350 with a unique mechanism that no one has yet tried, drawing an image from inside the optical viewfinder with a special tilting mirror. Like the A200 Sony make improvements to alpha-A350 AF have made focus acquisition 1.7 times faster, thanks to the high-torque AF motor and improved AF sequence borrowed from the A700. Autofocus in Live View is also as fast as it is in optical viewfinder mode, a ...
...With that description above make Sony A350 as a semi-pro camera. Not a bad thing, because it shows that the housing and appearance of the camera give you a good feeling, certainly with the Carl Zeiss lens mounted on the camera but If you need the resolution bump at a low price, the Rebel XSi is probably a better choice than the Sony Alpha DSLR-A350. ... Worst Camera I've ever used!
Review of Sony a (alpha) DSLR-A700 by BiteDownHard

Advantages: Comes with an arm strap and a carring case
Disadvantages: Almost everything

...overall bad. Since it's a sony you would think that it would be a good kind of camera but honestly when I bought it, i immediatley wanted my money back! It was very easy to use and the design looked nice but everything else just kinda seemed a big waste. When you first buy the Sony DSLR-A700 you get a arm strap and a bag that can come in different styles. I would not recommend this camera to anyone unless you want bad quality and very easy to break ... Read review

SONY A700P
Review of Sony a (alpha) DSLR-A700P by pertghj4779

Advantages: very good camera
Disadvantages: Slow continuous shooting, awkward menus

The 14.2-megapixel A350 fits somewhere between the beefy a700 and the a200, positioning itself to directly compete with other entry-level priced DSLRs like Canon's EOS Rebel XSi. Design-wise, the main attraction of the a350 is the 2.7-inch live view LCD, the soon-to-be ubiquitous technology that enables real-time image adjustment pre-capture, allowing the user to see how the changes they're making to the camera's settings will directly affect the ...
...switching to live view mode. We're also seeing the vertically tilting LCD more and more; we're told it's better for low angle shooting, but we still think a 180-degree rotating LCD provides more flexibility than one that only tilts up and down. The continuous shooting speed of 2.5fps (which drops to approximately 2 fps in live view mode) could be considered subpar, and we're not fans of Sony's menu systems in general, as they tend to be convoluted, ...
