This DVD/VCR was a birthday present to me from my husband. I have a huge collection of VHS tapes, as well as stacks of DVD's, so I love having the combination of both in one unit. With the remote I can turn it on, select VCR or DVD and play my tapes or DVD's. I can rewind, fast forward, or pause at the touch of a button. The VCR records, but I have not tried that feature yet. A friend of mine went out and bought this kind of dvd player because her kids had tore up hers in the living room. She did not want to go out and pay alot for one so they bought this one. It really works really good too. It come with a nice remote that is rather big and very easy to use. Its functions are ok but there are really not too many. I brought this product on sale for 60.00 at target thought i was getting a good deal. For a while the product work the vcr worked good and dvd player worked good. Then all of a sudden the dvd player started making my dvds stop in the middle of play . A few times then stopped working all together as far as playing dvds. I have just got this Panasonic DVD S54K and I think the player does a fairly good job in up converting the DVD with good picture quality. Plays all discs - VCDs, CD-RWs, CDs, DVDs, MP3s, Div-X and just about anything that won't play on other DVD players.
