I bought this A/C last year at the end of summer. Actually I bought 2 of them because the price was inrcedicble. 199.00 for the 9000 btu and 150.00 for the 7000 btu markdown at Target!!! These units are wonderful. Although they do need to be vented, the venting system is hardly noticable in your window. Much better then having a big ugly window conditioner hanging off your house LOL. I have the 9000 in my livingroom and it cools the entire room, ...
...keeps all 3 bedrooms at a nice cool temp for sleeping on those hot summer nights. The 7000 is in my family room and on those really hot, sweltering days you can sit in there with a sweatshirt on and still be chilly. I'm a bargain hunter and always wait for the sales. In my opinion, Sunpentown SF-608R isn't much of an air conditioner - more like a cold/cool fan. It's ideal to put it in places that the regular central air conditioner can't reach/or you want to save electricity because you're the only one in the house and there's no need to have the central AC blasting. ...The Sunpentown SF-608R doesn't do much for a big room - it took the Sunpentown SF-608R around 2 hours to cool down my living room fully. But for smaller rooms, it does wonder. The Sunpentown SF-608R have wheels on the bottom - you can change its location anytimg it doesn't suit you. It's not very heavy and even I can lift it. I found that the product was okay for the money you pay for it. I was satisfied none the less for the overall performance of the air conditioner. I mean it did help alot with the extra dry heat we get out here in the california desert. So I am happy with my purchase of this product. This is a big window unit for cooling your home. It is 8000 btus. It is pretty easy to install inside your window. But it does leave a small crack to the outside that you must fill. It is a reasonable amount of noise to listen to. It actually took me about a good three to four hours to get the air through more than on room. But it is all worth it.
