This is as good as it gets. The CS-R4004 is a complete system including a high performance home theater receiver that incorporates the latest Yamaha DSP technology and decodes Dolby Digital 5.1-channel surround, a CD changer, a dual-well auto-reverse tape deck, and a full complement of speakers. The electronic components are elegantly stacked in a handsome high-gloss black cabinet and the tower speakers flanking it share the first class finish as well. Ready for tomorrow, the R-V905 has inputs that can accept the decoded output from a DTS or MPEG-2, or DVD-Audio 5.1-channel decoder. Discrete power transistors rather than IC chips are used in the amplifier section to provide the cleanest sound possible. The amp delivers 85 watts to each of its five channels. Yamaha's YSS-908 chip provides Dolby Digital and Pro Logic with full channel separation and no front-to-back bleedthrough in addition to Music and Cinema DSP and Tri-Field Processing. Yamaha's exclusive Digital Sound Field Processing for music recreates the acoustic personalities of actual concert halls and other venues, such as the Roxy Theatre in Los Angeles, Village Gate in New York, Anaheim Stadium, and concert halls and churches in Europe. Cinema DSP multiplies the effects of Dolby Pro Logic and Yamaha DSP to provide the best possible Pro Logic movie theater recreation in your home. Tri-Field Processing DSP does the same for Dolby Digital. When different input formats are connected from the same source, the R-V905 will automatically prioritize them and select in order Dolby Digital, PCM, and finally the analog input. The advanced remote control with the R-V905 has preset codes for most brands of VCRs, TVs, etc.
