Nowhere near as big or as commercialized as the superbowl. It also is played at the venue of one of the teams involved. The superbowl in contrast is typically played at a neutral site decided years in advance, although a team could play during thier home field. The world series is played as a best of seven series between the the pennent champions of the american league and the national league. One thing that happen during the season, but can have more impact in a world series is the role of the designated hitter, In short the dh, as its called, is were the pitcher has to bat when they are at the national teams field. Often times good pitchers are not good hitters. Gaylord perry once said they would put a man on the moon before he, as a pitcher, hit a home run and that in fact is how things happend. Superbowl is more exciting.
