...When I first saw Christian Malcolm I was astounded by how quick he was. He had destroyed the opposition in the World Junior Championships to win Gold in both 200 and 100 metres. He reminded me of Linford Christie who also had a storming finish. His step up to senior athletics has not been so easy however he may be a major contender in four years time. I feel that he is good enough to finish in the final but he hasn't impressed me enough to consider him for a medal position. I initially thought he was best suited for the 100 metres but he is finding it easier at the 200 metres. With Michael Johnson and Maurice Greene failing to qualify there are a whole host of athletes in with a chance of winning gold.... Read review

...Christian Malcolm is one of Great Britain's most promising up-and-coming athletes. He has already won titles at junior level, and at the recent world championships in Edmonton he came so close to winning his first World Championship medal. Malcolm, known for his 200 metre running, pulled off an amazing performance to reach the final of the 100 metres, not his best event. Although he made no real challenge as the final saw an American 1-2-3, Malcolm had done well to get that far. Just a few days later Christian began the competition that he promised so much in, the 200 metres. He ran very comfortably, winning his quarter and semi-finals comfortably and setting a new personal best without breaking a sweat. Being the fastest qualifier for the final of the 200 metres, and looking so comfortable, I was hoping he could get the gold medal... Read review
