Good choice of router
Review of Belkin Wireless G Plus MIMO Router wireless router by stellaandjoey

Advantages: Great signal strength and small
Disadvantages: Sometimes loses signal but not for long

...I'll explain why. The Belkin router is a small compact box that has a pair of aerials on it that detects the signal to enable laptop users to go 'wireless' meaning they do not have to be plugged into their modem any longer and can sit in any room of their home whilst working on the laptop. This can depend on how good the signal strength is and the G plus is the medium range so allows the average home the capability to go in any room and still have ...
...The installation was very easy - literally it is a case of inserting the CD supplied into your laptop that you want to go wireless with and following the instructions. It is relatively fast to set up as long as you have the access to the net already in your home as it detects it and gives you the instructions to follow to then go fully wireless using your laptop. Once installed you never need to do anything with it as there are no buttons on it just ... Read review

Cool gadget to have
Review of D-Link AirPremier AG DWL-AG132 Wireless 108AG USB Adapter - network adapter by Lejandro

Advantages: small, USB connectivity, solid product
Disadvantages: None

The D-Link AirPremier AG DWL-AG132 Wireless 108AG USB Adapter is small but does wonders for your WiFi needs. First, primary reason why I opted for this reciever is its USB connectivity. The PC I was going to you use this didn't have any available PCI slot so I have to go for this one. And I am pretty pleased with that decision. Being an USB device offers a lot of advantages. This means you can install and use this on several PCs by being just a plug-and-play ...
...around different PCs or laptops. Signal for this is good. Speed is within specifications. Used it about 60-70 feet away from router and signal rating is between very strong to excellent. Though I have seen some that are stronger (PCI cards), you shouldn't have any problem using it within the house. Unit construction is pretty sturdy too. This usb adapter by the way comes with an 2-feet extension dock which comes handy if you don't want to plug it ... Read review

24/7 no go! But just alittle bit will do.
Review of NETGEAR WG111T Super-G Wireless USB 2.0 Adapter - network adapter by StanRogo

Advantages: fast speed high connection and signal strength, eay to use CD
Disadvantages: overheating, breaks down quickly quite quickly

Again, this was first a birthday present for me and it was the only way of recieving broadband in our home. A wirless adaptor by the way is something that recieves wirless signal from a wireless router so you dont have to limit a modem to one computer, but can send out signals to those in the house around you, and this thing picks these signals up. Allthough the wirless adaptor was not plug and play (but most adaptors aren't anyway) it had a clear ...
...system spesifications and showed if you actually met them or not and then continued atomatically to the setup screen. Only after this were the other options accesible on a menu screen. However it does not start the installation process again upon insertion of the disc in to the drive like some programmes and usually your main goal when you put a CD in to the computer for the first time you generally want to install the programme and not download ... easy to install
Review of Linksys Wireless-G Broadband Router WRT54G - wireless router by livingdeadgirl

Advantages: runs fast, easy to install
Disadvantages: none

This is a very nice router to have compared to netgear. I have not had the same kind of problems with this router like I did with that one. I got it hooked up within about ten minutes without any kind of problems. I also ran as fast as my modem had run before I hooked it up. So I was very pleased. I had two little antenna on the top to help it with the better clearance. The security level was so much better than that on the belkin that I borrowed ... Read review

Wireless card
Review of D-Link Xtreme N PCI Express Desktop Adapter DWA-556 - network adapter by st0rmy

Advantages: Good bit
Disadvantages: finicky about angles

...your computer. However, with the D-Link Xtreme N PCI Express Desktop Adapter, It's gonna be a bit tricky to actually get the connection. This wireless card is super finicky about angles, which is sometimes hard to determine, considering where the connection is coming from. But once you find the angle you need, it gives a great connection, usually pretty fast. This card is actually pretty easy; Remove the side panel of your computer, along with the ...
...unplugged! I cannot stress this enough! Also make sure to discharge all static on you and the card by touching something metal before installing. Then you plug it in, with the antennae out of the computer. It's way easier than it seems, I swear. Overall, other'n the card being finicky about angles, it's a great card, i definitely reccommend it. ... Read review
