Wii Sports Review ofWii Sports for Wiiby
celestiel
Advantages: Huge fun factor game! Great for ALL ages! Easy enough for ALL ages too! Disadvantages: Graphics are the greatest.
We LOVE Wii sports. It's one of our favorite Wii games. It's not as graphically "pretty" but it has a huge fun factor! It is fun to play with a group. Not only do my kids play with this but my us adults are getting into playing this game (along with a few other Wii games). Boxing was fun at first but now we all love to play gold and Tennis the most. I recently had some of my Canadian relatives visit and their boys played Wii Sports the most out of ... ...most. I'm so glad the Wii is made. With kids, we don't get to get out much like we did before having our little ones but with the Wii especially this game it brings the sports to our house! :)
This, along with a few other new sports Wii games, is a blast to play and fun for litterally ALL ages. Because of this game my Uncle enjoyed watching his grandchildren play he ended up buying one on the way home from visiting us! ...

Wii Sports is a set of five sports games provided with the station. You can play alone, but it's much more fun to play with some friend. The five sports you can practice are boxing, golfing, bowling, tennis and baseball. According to the one you'll choose, you can play alone or with a friend, sometimes at the same time, one against the other, sometimes each one after the other.

Wii Boxing is clearly my favourite amongst those games for you can ... ...You could play Wii Boxing alone (boring) or against a friend. The two players then need both a Wiimote and a Nunchuk, holding one of them in each hand. The players stand side by side, not face to face. You could see on screen the position of your Mii (the small numeric version of yourself) and you have to fight according to that, using your fists to attack and to protect yourself.
*
Wii Tennis is also quite realistic. But you'll need much space. ...

Advantages: Realistic and tiring, a very good game Disadvantages: Bowling and baseball are boring
The Wii Sports game is provided with the Wii console. You can purchase it alone for some $35 (Second-hand on amazon.com, from people who probably got it with their console and who want to get rid of it).
The packaging is unpleasent: since this game is not supposed to be sold seperately, it's a simple cardboard jacket. No DVD-like plastic packaging, that would be much resistant. A bit disappointed by the presentation, then.

When you play with your friends (you can connect up to 4 Wiimotes to a single Wii), you should create as many Miis as players. Start your Wii, put the CD, and... go !

Wii Sports is a Classic game that is a must have if you have the Wii gaming console! I would say that it never gets old. You can play games that including bowling, baseball, tennis and more. All of which are great fun both on your own and with a group of people. Of course it's better when you play with friends as there is more of a competitive flair. You can take a fitness test which scores your ability to keep up with various tests it provides you. ... ...Sports, you can retake the test to see how much better you get. Advantages: Good fun, easy to understand, appeals to whole family Disadvantages: Not as good a workout as 'real' sports, sometimes a bit slow
...butter of this innovative console. Wii sports is the one game that everyone who owns a Wii must have. Between boxing, tennis, bowling, golf and baseball there is something here that everyone will enjoy. As with most Wii games, this appeals not only to traditional gamers looking for the next step in virtual reality but also to a wide range of players who could not think of anything more boring than sitting in front of the TV pressing buttons. The ... ...playing at sport on the Wii is an equivalent workout to playing these sports in reality. While it is much better to be up and active than paying a traditional games console, i think that Nintendo should be more careful not to lead people into believing that this is a real alternative to the good old fresh air and exercise. That said, if boxing on Wii sports is not exercise of some kind, I don't know what is.
Those who expected more of the Wii console ...

Manufacturer's product description
A compilation of simple, Wii-playable sports games. Included sports are Tennis, Golf, Baseball, Boxing and Bowling.
Additional information
Detailed Description: A compilation of simple, Wii-playable sports games. Included sports are Tennis, Golf, Baseball, Boxing and Bowling. All of these sports games have a stylized look that's designed after classic 8-bit game designs but brought to life with full 3D technology. Although each game will concentrate on the core mechanics of hitting a ball, swinging a racquet, and putting with a club, the games will offer full (albeit simplified) sports experiences of whole games in Baseball and Tennis as well as multiple holes to play in Golf. Also compatible with the Mii avatar system for a more personalized experience.
Game Special Features: Tennis (1-4 players): Players grab the Wii Remote like a racket and swing - the game registers forehands, backhands, volleys, lobs, slices, spin and power depending on how fast the user swings and at what angle. Dont worry about moving around the court to get to the ball the game automatically moves players into position.Baseball (1-2 players): Players grip the Wii Remote like a bat and swat fastballs out of the park, or fire a fastball over the plate with a flick of their wrist. Timing and bat speed will make all the difference between going yard and whiffing, so keep an eye on the ball and swing for the fences. In the two-player game, one player pitches and the other bats all fielding and running is automatic, so that players can focus on the action.Golf (1-4 players): Step up to the tee, hold the Wii Remote like a golf club and swing naturally to smack the ball onto the green. The harder players swing the club, the farther the ball will fly. Be careful, though if players swing too hard, their ball will fly out of control, so they should be sure to take some practice swings before going for the pin. After reaching the green, line up putts carefully, practice the stroke and try to hole out.Bowling (1-4 players): Players raise the Wii Remote in their hand just like a bowling ball, and then swing their arms to roll the ball. The speed of the swing and the angle at which they release the ball affects the ball's spin, so it will take some practice to master control over the ball and knock down the pins.Boxing (1-2 players): Using the Nunchuk controller as one glove and the Wii Remote as the other, players dodge, weave and punch their opponents. Players hold their hands high to guard their faces or low to block their torsos. They punch high to hit their opponents' faces or low to get under their guard for a body blow. Swing both arms left or right to sidestep oncoming blows and move into position for a devastating knockout.Mii data compatible.
Minimum Requirements: Wii Remote and Nunchuk controller
