I have been using this web cam for about three years now. I have tried out quite a few web cams (in internet cafes) but this cam is the one we're using at home. I'm happy with this cam because even if the lights are off, I can still use it. Its not that hard to find the proper lighting angle though during daytime, it could get overly bright sometimes.

I use A4Tech ViewCam PK-835 web camera at home in my laptop. The quality is as good as other web camera of A4 tech. I think that any A4tech web cam are super duper excellent. An inexpensive web cam for sure. But with a few limitations. With a 1.3 mega pixel camera it is OKAY. With a low MP size the image will be grainy and if you want to improve image quality you need an excellent light source near you not behind you but coming from infront of you or from ... ...plus but i prefer my own mic as to quality. You can mute the mic through some of the settings but it took a while to figure it out.
It DOES have a good frame rate to be honest. But the thing is that frame rate or not if you have poor image quality what is the point?
This would be OK for starters or those that don't use a web cam a lot since it IS inexpensive. Starter or not as far as i am concerned i didn't like it. ...
