I actually played We Love Katamari before the original title Katamari Damacy, and was immediately compelled to buy the original.
The game is beautifully set with characters from the original game asking the King of the Cosmos a series of questions about love and life.
Your goal, as Prince, is to complete miniature missions of rolling up the universe into a ball. These balls often include animals, and even people. However live your items may be, the game is not violent, but handles their "capture" in a humorous way.
The controls are easy to master, and can be practiced in a tutorial session at the beginning of the game.
Interlaced in between rolls of the game are small cut scenes that spell out a story, and gifts that add to game-play personalization.
All in all, the game never gets boring. Each time I play there are new challenges or goals to accomplish.
I highly recommend this game.
