Having owned the Fisher & Paykel GWL15 washer for a year, I can now say with confidence that this is an excellent washing machine with deceptive simplicity and excellent performance. In addition to consistently high performance, its energy and water saving characteristics have been surprisingly noticeable on utility bills. And clothes are cleaner without wearing as much. In fact, we've had friends use the machine for really tough jobs, like cleaning ...

...purchased one along with a Whirlpool dryer. I would say that this is definitely a good washer for the low price that they sell it for. I do laundry about 2-3 times a week and it's easy to use and energy efficient. The settings are easy to figure out and it runs smoothly and for the most part quietly.
