Disadvantages: Sometimes is very slow... it also consumes a lot.

I got this fella two Christmas ago. Some times I need to do some voice recordings, it's very handy to takes notes when you see a phone number or a home for sale. Some times, I'm driving and I see an advertisement, and I can record anything in this device. TELL ME MORE I find this fella good stuff, however, I think it's not very accurate if you do a rush recording. The microphone is located on the top. You can also connect headphones on ...
...the left site there USB connector is located. This device connect throughout USB. The cover of the USB socket is pretty bad though. When you open it a couple of times, it ends up no closing properly and I have it taped. On the right site, the top red button is for erasing a recording. Advantages: handy notetaking; create your own folders, microphone and speaker quality great
Disadvantages: none

...me when I received my Olympus WS-110. I do a lot of thinking. And I DID a lot of scribbling on paper. All over the house. Now, I carry this baby with me all the time and my information is ready to retrieve anytime! The ease of use of a product is extremely important so I was happy that there was no steep learning curve in getting used to the button controls. You create folders which you can add information to which makes it quite nice. I have a ... Read review

Disadvantages: Not cheap, no rechargable battery or docking station

...age when we purchased a Philips Digital Pocket Memo. The Philips Digital Pocket Memo (or DPM) is a small, hand-held machine that records my boss' eloquence on to files on memory cards. You then download files onto your computer to transcribe them. It's that simple. Still, that might not be enough for most of you so let me go into a touch more detail. As you can see from the picture above, this has a LCD screen which shows you things like how much ...
...to figure out. The Philips DPM uses SD flash memory cards, and it comes with a Philips 512mb card, but you can up in cards up to 1 GB (but no bigger). We don't have a docking station for this, and run it on two AAA batteries, and find that we only change batteries every two weeks or so. We figured that's over 30 hours of recording between battery changes, which is very good. Also, the sound quality stays consistently clear until the batteries go ... Read review
