My first experience with VS online was around Christmas time. I was really excited to get lots of free stuff with my purchase! I got free slippers with pajamas that I bought and then an awesome bag with samples once I spent $60 dollars. At that time, the deals were definitely better online than they were in the store. I was never a Victoria's Secret fan prior to then, but I was hooked after that one purchse. Not long after, I found a really great bra in store and it was not available in my size, so I made a trip to my new favorite website to purchase the bra. I found some other things I wanted, enough to get a free gift with the purchase, I got everything in my cart and proceeded to check out. Then I was sorely disappointed. All of my favorite things I picked out were on back order and I would not get them for months! I was no longer left with a warm and fuzy feeling regarding VS online. I really wanted that bra! I did purchase some of the items, and received my free gift, but after that experience I no longer felt the same exuberance about purchasing items from VS.Then the huge clearance happened. I'm definitely one for a great deal, so what if it's January and I'm already buying gifts for next Christmas? It's cheap! I bought a really great Pink sweat suit for my sister, she always wanted one and I found a nice one very cheap. A week or so later I receive the pants in the mail with a note that the jacket was on back order. A while after that I found out there were no more of the jackets and I was getting a refund. While the pants are nice, I never would have bought them without the jacket. The set makes a much better gift than the pants alone. So now I'm somewhere in between on my feelings for victoriassecret.com, there are great deals and occassionaly good promotional gifts. But there is also a shortage of the products that are most popular and you can end up waiting for products to later find out that you will not receive them at all. The site itself is technically good. The product images are all very good, and there are usually examples of the different patterns, colors or styles, not just one picture and then six color boxes for other varieties. All of the links work and I have never had any problems with bad pages or even images that don't load. As far as the shopping experience goes, I personally find it difficult to find what I'm looking for, but that's because I'm not very familiar with the different lines from Victoria's Secret. When searching through the sale merchandise you have to search within specific collections, and I would prefer to see everything that's on sale. Especially because I don't know which collection I like! In the end, I'd say this is the kind of website you would like if you're already in love with the product. For me, the product lies outside of my daily price range and it is more of a splurge purchase. For that reason, I don't spend enough to get the free shipping and so it's actually a waste of money for me to use the online, especially if they don't have exactly what I want!
