Pac 10 football conference powerhouse in the state of california. Usc is another of the powerhouses of college football winning eleven national championships and the last 6 pac 10 championships. Usc has lots of former players go on to play in the nfl. They also had the name "tailback u" for their tradition of producing great nfl running backs such as marcus allen and o.j. simpson.
Their greatest rivalry is with the university of notre dame which gives the victor a rivalry trophy know as the "jeweled Shillelagh. They have beaten notre dame the last six times that they played in a row.
Individually players have claimed sever heisman trophies. Winners include Mike Garrett, O. J. Simpson, charles White, Marcus Allen, Carson Palmer, Matt Leinart, and Reggie Bush. Reggie bush and matt leinart were back to back. A little fact that most people dont know about the team is that john wayne played offensive line at usc.
