Advantages The PC's seem to be ready to take away, no waiting
Disadvantages No back up, lying staff,useless support

...They might have good prices on the floor but once you have paid your money, they dont care at all about you. I have bought two pc's from PC World and a fridge and freezer from Dixons. The pricing was ok and the units were of the correct size. I did not fall for the added cover story even though it was pushed very hard The fridge and seperate freezer were delevered on seperate days, due to a 'clerical error'. The PC's that I bought from PCWorld in Lakeside,an HP Pavillion and an Advent. The Advent is the Dixon groups own brand. The HP did not come with software on a disk but on a seperate partition on the hard drive. The sales staff were not aware of this at all. ...Hi all I'm don't know everything about computers but everone has to use them now and i would like to share my op on pc world. I have brought two laptops and one desktop pc from pc world and there has been a problem with each one!. The first laptop that i brought had a pixel missing and had to be replaced and then the hard drive broke down not because of the software but because it actually broke! and ever since the day i have had it the battery will not hold a charge and doesn't last more then 3 minutes before it switches off. I had that laptop taken in by pc world under their super insurance "NOT" that i took and the hard drive replaced but they would not replace or fix the battery. They said that you have to go into the bios to correct this problem which is totally out of my league and so i'm stuck with this problem, why did i pay... Read review

...First started buying from Watford about four years ago. Just a few bits and pieces to begin with such as blank CDs etc. The prices are usually a substantial saving on anything comparable at PC World, and delivery is normally within one or two days. They use a well known delivery company and the products are well packaged and protected. It's not always convenient to order products on-line if you've got a job and you're not in to accept delivery so I'll often make last minute purchases at PC World and then torture myself later looking up the corresponding price on the Watford web-site. My recommendation here, and something (I'm trying to do myself, is to start planning purchases better. Everything I've bought at the shops I knew about in advance but left it too late. By anticipating requirements a bit better the two day wait... Read review
