Toshiba LCD projectors will steal the show with an exceptionally bright, crystal-clear performance. A built-in digital document camera on selected models that can project three dimensions larger than life, guarantees your presentation will bring any audience to their feet. LCD (liquid crystal display) projectors usually contain three separate LCD glass panels, one each for red, green, and blue components of the image signal being fed into the projector. As light passes through the LCD panels, individual pixels ("picture elements") can be opened to allow light to pass or closed to block the light, as if each little pixel were fitted with a Venetian blind. This activity modulates the light and produces the image that is projected onto the screen.

I recently connected the HDMI output of a Toshiba SD-V592 DVD player using a Monster cable adapter, to the DVI input of the Sony. The 720p and 1080i upconversions from the player were handled seamlessly, diplaying the upconverted higher resolutions briefly on the on-screen display, and producing a beautiful extremely detailed picture. Cannot comment yet on HDTV quality as I do not yet have HDTV cable. Very happy with purchase.... Read review

...until the 31st January 08. Playstation 3 just looks amazing on the TV. With newer games now coming through with the 1080p resolution, I am now starting to see the benefits of this TV. Most games at the moment are 720p (HD Ready) and not 1080p (Full HD) but there is certainly a difference. I also compared the screen side by side with Toshiba, Samsung and Philips. Philips is the closest match to the Sony in terms of quality build and picture quality, but they are expensive. That's not to say that Sony isn't, you are just getting more for your money with the Sony. Samsung pictures were vivid, but the only drawback is the tedious reflective screen. LG and Toshiba(which i have owned for years) in terms of picture quality were no match in terms of sharpness or picture quality.... Read review
