Toshiba T 60

Advantages Cheap, Reliable, Run up to date games.
Disadvantages Heavy, Slow, Battery

...The Toshiba Equium A60, is a cheap, and reliable laptop. It can do the basic commands of oppening Microsoft Office to a harder command of running the most up to date games. The A60 is quite old now, and I was worried at first that it may not be able to run Flight Simulator X. In the end the game works fine. The spec is good aswell, if you have got alot of files then you may need to buy and external hard drvie for extra storage. Then there is the bad sides of this laptop. so its not very portable. Also if you have got lots of programs then the laptop may be slow and most of the time the laptop will not be able to run more then three or four major programs. ...We purchased our Equium from PC World last year for £600. A bargin we thought however, the fast moving world of PC's and laptop soon had a better bargain. For home use this laptop is great. Excellent features, great for internet and broadband and high res screen make it a joy to use. However after a couple of months the laptop decided to shut itself down without any warning. I'm not talking it would run through the shutdown process, it would simply switch off mid program. I discovered this was due to the CPU overheating and to rectify the problem I needed to hoover to the grill at the back whilst using a can of compressed air to shoot the dust through the cpu. Once I had this problem solved, for about 3 months and then it did it again. Perhaps something Toshiba need to look at. Another downside is the time the laptop takes... Read review

...The Toshiba Satellite Pro A60 laptop is ideal for entry level home users, and possibly students who have some time on their hands to sort stuff out. I wouldn't say it was suitable for the lower end of the business market, as Toshiba seem to be targeting with this product. I could be wrong however, maybe I was just unlucky! I have had mine for 8 months now, after previous satellite old faithful, which I had owned for about 7 years, gave up the ghost in the middle of a project, and I needed a cheap laptop quickly. I was impressed by the blue design which veers away from the boring black/grey you're used to seeing on the budget end notebooks.
