Advantages: easy to use, very helpful, time saver, reliable
Disadvantages: may be distracting while driving

This GPS unit is so easy to use and program. I loved the touch screen, it made it very easy to plug in the street names or even search for a restaurant or theatre, and it was perfect for a long road trip we took and worth having for that. The voice navigation also was a great feature as most GPS units and I liked that it could be changed or turned off as well. ...This is the brand-new,much hyped Tom Tom One XL to replace the still-available TomTom One (that\'s about £100 cheaper). The basic difference between the two models is that new new XL has built-in safety camera features, whereas the original one doesn\'t (however, you can download it free from the internet). The new XL also has a wider screen which, really, makes very little difference when you\'re driving along. The system it uses is good and cannot be faulted -it\'s easy to use and understand, even for a novice, and you can choose options like voice etc. I have found that the battery doesn\'t last very long (maybe because of the slim-line design at the back of the model), and the holder that attaches to the window is cheaply made and very stiff to maneover. There are numerous voice profiles to choose from like \"UK Jane\" and american accents. You navigate to a destination by simpy touching the screen and selecting the \"navigate to\" option then you can input the city, street address, or postcode. ...I was amazed. It was excellent in almost every way. The accuracy was perfect, the interference is friendly, and the step-by-step direction system was easy to understand. If you accidently go the wrong way, in 5 seconds it finds a new road for you. I get lost easily, but after I bought this, the worries were gone completely. Once, I was going in a way that I had gone few times but it was very unfamiliar. One day the road was on construction. I was stuck, so I used the navigator, and voila, it got me to the place. It could also use your phone's cellular network to do stuff like finding the info about traffic, weather, and etc. using bluetooth. If you are looking for a navigation that is accurate and friendly, but not expensive, this is the product for you.... Read review
