=== A NAVIGATOR? ===
This device will help you to find your destination. Due of it's price, I recommend it for road warriors. This device will give you clear direction to your destination based on a satellite signal. The device has itself several maps to assist your driving.
HOW IT WORKS
As mentioned above, this device connect with a total of 18 satellites. While you are driving, the Tom Tom will track you and guide you through the streets.
This device will assist you in finding your destination. You will be able to drive to a city (it will guide you to the target city's downtown. It will guide you to a cross street, a zip code or an exact address. If you decide to go to an exact address, you should insert the city, the street and the number in that order. Once you do this, you will receive an itinerary. You will be able to avoid any street you like. Also, you will be warned if you are going into a toll road or not (and you have a quick option to avoid it)
Also, you have the option to find several point of interests such gas stations, restaurants, pharmacies and much more. You will find very easily the main business, but some local business will appear as well. You can also get directions to those point of interests.
OPTIONS
You have several options and features within your brand new device. When you first start it, it will ask you for your home address. Insert it. By this way, from wherever you are, you may push the home button and get directions there immediately (by this way you won't need to enter your home address every time you want to go back to home.
This device also comes with the Favorite option. Very useful as well for some regular destinations. You just need to add the addresses below this option, and then, when you access to favorites you'll get a list of your regular directions.
This device also remember your last destinations. Within the recent destination option, you will be able to go back to a previous location with no need to insert it again.
More options
This devices comes with several options. Options such day or night, voices, what or not to see on the screen, etc. You will also be able to locate the coordinates of your exact location and the exact place where you are (good if you need road assistance)
This device has also bluetooth , which it will good to connect it to other bluetooth devices such a cell phone, however, I did not use this feature at all, so I won't explain it.
You also can get traffic and weather options, however, it does require a paid subscriptions. I do not have it either, but I'm sure the device will avoid clogged streets!
=TAKE CARE AND DRIVE SAFETY!!!===
You will get somewhat this warning the first time you start it. Some times the TomTom Device gives some extremely dangerous (and prohibited) directions. For example... I usually get a direction... entering to the 90 from Washington street -left lane- and then, 200 yards after you need to go to the 290 - 4 lanes to cross - of course, totally forbidden. Sometimes, when you miss a turn the TomTom can state a risky move (when you miss a turn, the TomTom recalculates the itinerary and it may request you to turn left when you are in the middle of the cross street) Some times, it request you to do a U-turn or a "Turn around if possible" Do not get crazy... If you are in a hurry, you better stop your car and wait for you device to reload and then keep going.
SOME FUN STUFF
This device can make your driving more smoothly. You can purchase several different voices and most of them, will joke with some directions...
I have a granny, and some of the quotes:
Turn around when possible... And watch out nobody is crossing the road Take the uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu-turn! Don't go to fast... I'll get dizzy!!Also, when it gives a large instruction (such going 200 yard to turn right and then after 100 more turning left) you can hear her voice lacking oxygen. Pretty useless but it's fun!!

I do not recommend the holder that comes with the box. Purchase other one, as the one in the box is not reliable at all. You want to connect this device to your PC, by that way you will get updated maps and also an updated software. Also, it's good to do some backups. more if you purchase new maps.
PERSONAL OPINION
I'm very happy with this device. It's an essential tool for my job as I drive to several places and cities. You can't get lost with it...
The avoiding tool is very useful, because sometimes it gives some silly directions (like taking the highway for a 2 miles trip) Also, the device can handle some hits... however, do not play football with it!!!
If you are a road warrior or you love to drive and see world... definitely purchase it. It's worth the price.
