Your little driving buddy
Review of TomTom GPS receiver by
Heartless
Advantages: Clear directions. Reliable and fast.
Disadvantages: Sometimes it rushes too much inducing to a dangerous turn.
...it. Some times the TomTom Device gives some extremely dangerous (and prohibited) directions. For example... I usually get a direction... entering to the 90 from Washington street -left lane- and then, 200 yards after you need to go to the 290 - 4 lanes to cross - of course, totally forbidden. Sometimes, when you miss a turn the TomTom can state a risky move (when you miss a turn, the TomTom recalculates the itinerary and it may request you to turn ... ...THE BOX
* TomTom Device. * Instructions.
* Serial Number Card.
* A holder.
* Car Charger.
MORE STUFF
I do not recommend the holder that comes with the box. Purchase other one, as the one in the box is not reliable at all.
You want to connect this device to your PC, by that way you will get updated maps and also an updated software. Also, it's good to do some backups. more if you purchase new maps.

TomTom will get you where you need to go
Review of TomTom GPS receiver by
ahilario80
Advantages: Precise directions to just about where you need to go
Disadvantages: A very small handful of locations not in memory
...the most reliable directions. This TomTom has been on point for the most part.
It was very easy to set up. Just turn it on and it immediately goes to work to find your current location and set itself up. It gives you a brief tour of the different sections in the TomTom. After that, we were ready to go. It's very easy to enter a destination, you can enter it manually by address, or search for it by name or location. There were a few times when we ... ...connected.
We plan on using the TomTom to take on some much needed relaxing road trips that we feared would have been nightmares if we had to depend on Mapquest. Very happy to have this! I would definitely recommend to anyone looking into investing in a navigation system. ...

good, except for technical problems
Review of TomTom GPS receiver by
doublet83
Advantages: good value, good product, and easy to use
Disadvantages: i've experienced serious technical problems
Very accurate driving directions-havn't done me wrong yet by following this thing, even for long distance trips. I like the interface and the speach system. Personally I think the interface is nicer than Garmin's but that's probably a matter of personal tastes. Everything is fairly intuitive and easy to understand right out of the box. I would rate this a 5 star except that I've had problems with the system randomly rebooting on me: I would input ...

Tom Tom One
Review of TomTom GPS receiver by
jpmcmahon
Advantages: Ease of use, different view modes, wide range of features
Disadvantages: Technical problems
The Tom Tom has been a great help to us in our efforts to navigate the highways and byways. The voice system is very good and the different views are helpful in many situations, and make night driving much easier. The LCD screen is easily readable in most lighting situations.
Out of the way points of interest can be a bit off kilter, especially in newly developed areas, perhaps map corrections will fix these minor problems over time, we will see.

Review of TomTom GO 710 by
starcuregirl
taken from ciao.co.uk
Advantages compact easy to use
Disadvantages have to wait a while for sattelite coverage sometimes
...I bought this a couple of months ago and I used it to travel from Italy to England. At the beginning its great having some one tell you where yto go but it does get annoying after a while. However the great thing is you can change the voice of the speaker, tom tom has installed different male and female voices to choose from. The graphics are excellent and are eay to follow. Tom Tom helped us travel easily . I recommend buyers to update maps frequently as roads can change often, especially into one way streets!!! Overall an excellent little gadget that makes driving easy and pleasurable. In my opinion its well worth the price. Just make sure you have your charger with you at all timesto avoid getting stuck!!!...

Review of TomTom GO - GPS receiver - automotive by
IreneH
taken from ciao.co.uk
Advantages No more map reading in the dark
Disadvantages Can sometimes take a while to pick up a signal
...The Tom Tom is compact and easy to use.
You can search by address or by postcode which is helpful if you only have a part address.
It allows you to zoom in and to view part or all of your journey beforehand.
You can search for nearby hotels, restaraunts and petrol stations handy when you are in an unfamiliar area.
The display shows your approx. speed distance and travel time.
It does sometimes make mistakes though so you do still need an awareness of where you are.
You can choose different map views and there are a number of different voices.
You can save favourites and scroll down your last 20 journeys - useful for planning a number of different journeys beforehand, and when you are ready to go home just press the home button and follow it's instructions.
Cost approx. £260-00 well worth every penny if you do alot of driving...
