Advantages: Gets you around "obstacles" faster than the detours Disadvantages: Needs to be updated once in a while
TomTom GO USA maps has taken me from coast to coast AND back (East to West and then back again ... NJ to San Diego) !!! I must say that this "map memory" is quite sufficient and can get you out of most "jams" paired with the TomTom GO device. There was a highway in Kansas that was totally blocked off and believe it or not these maps actually had a faster way to get around than the actual detours !!!
I must admit that there were times that the maps ... ...who report the problem to TomTom (this really is quite easy to do).
Driving through Canada to get from Ann Arbor Michigan to Burlington Vermont was a breeze though and a very pleasurable experience (this gives time to relax and enjoy the scenery instead of looking at maps the entire time).
All in all TomTom did a very good job mapping out the states and Canada ... and to top it they are constantly updating so once purchased its free to update when ...
