I don't have any temperature comparisons with other coolers but it's sat on top of my Core 2 Duo 6600 and is very quiet indeed, plus I can barely get the CPU temp over 35 degrees even on a hot day playing a 3d game. I should point out that ...

Top quality quiet cooling fan.
