This machine is excellent for those wishing to make their very own 'Starbucks Coffee'.
The machine has an awesome power to it and can produce enough steam to re create those drinks you buy in your local starbucks at home. The machine is not cheap in the region of around $370 in the USA or around £200 in the UK but, it really does work. I originally had a cheap one that I thougt looked good and seemed to do the job ok. However after using one of these you can really tell the difference. The machine is created using the same mechanisms as the big machines in the stores so it can handle high volumes and has the power to heat up very quickly meaning no waiting around before you can start aking your drinks.
The steam power is strong enough to foam up your milk the same as the professional machines would and the filter means the right blend of coffee to water ratio coming htrough for the perfect espresso shot.
The machine is pretty easy to clean once you know how but this is something that you will need to do on a regular basis to maintain the optimum performance of your machine. After every espresso shot has been filtered the filter should be rinsed so that no old coffee is being used on the next lot of shots.
As regards to coffee that you can use in this machine it does not have to be Starbucks own as you can use any brand as long as it is already ground. The good thing about starbucks coffee is that they keep it in bean form and at the time of purchase it can be ground so that it stays fresher fro longer. They can grind it to the customers liking as some prefer a laregr grind and some a finer grind. Howvere if you prefer you can buy any coffee and if you even own your own grinder then you can buy beans which I always reccomend as this is a good way of keeping the coffee fresh and then you can also just grind the bean as you need it.
I would highly recommend this machine to anybody and the money would be well spent as this machine would last a long time. The machine looks good too either in a black plastic type finish or the stainless steel option. Also if you've never used one before, most of the Starbucks baristas will happily give you a demo so just ask when you go in.
