Puting those minor blemmishes aside this camera remains one of the best introductory DSLR`s I have used and I would happily shout from the rafters about it to anyone who was willing to listening. Compared to previous models the A350 is way better than the A100 and slightly better than the A200 and 300 so it was definitely worth bringing out, compared to other manufacturers in the same price range it is very competitive and has given me better images than most so I think Sony is going to be the next big thing in the world of DSLR cameras and it is certainly the one I will be recommending to people for the foreseeable future. ...I used this camera on a few occations and can honestly tell you it is a great camera with excellent value for money. Sony really came a far way with their cameras and their quality is really high. You can't go wrong with any of their new camera products. The Sony A350 is no exception. The picture quality is great, the controls are really easy with a lot of functions. It's really easy to for beginners and pros alike. It's great for makro shots and just as great for nice landscape photos. I have done great photography of forests and mountains with this camera. I do however want to say that it tends to underexpose a little bit when using high ISO's, but shouldn't be a big problem. I can suggest this camera for anyone who wants to buy this kind of camera. ...The Sony Alpha 350 digital SLR camera is a fantastic addition to the Sony Alpha range. The introduction of a LIve View system and tiltable LCD screen make it a really good camera for enthusiasts that are making the leap from digital compact or bridge cameras. Before buying the Alpha 350 I used a Sony DSC F-717 and found shooting with the 350s automatic mode to be a doddle but it has plenty of features to keep the more experienced photographer happy. I find all of the buttons to be in pleasing positions and have no trouble handling the camera for both landscape (horizontal) and portrait (vertical) aspect pictures. The standard 25-70 mm lens kit that comes with most offers is a good performer although I find the autofocus does struggle very occasionally when shooting macro pictures.
