Sony XS-MB835 midbass component speaker, optimized for small enclosures, features double damper suspension, and gold-plated binding posts. High-rigidity compound polypropylene cone exhibits low mass for good transient response, rigid structural integrity for low distortion, and high internal loss for accurate sound reproduction without excessive "ringing". This durable plastic-based material is used primarily for speaker cones due to its resistance against harsh environmental conditions, rigidity, and damping. It withstands the extremes of the auto sound environment well. 4 layers of wire in the voice coil, increasing magnetic gauss for faster and more accurate response, and increasing power handling capability. A speaker surround material constructed of santoprene rubber offers improved resistance to stretching. Stroke stabilizer adds structure to the surround to prevent it from breaking up, resulting in lower distortion.
