New Sony optical system improvements enable the VPL-FX51 to offer an outstanding brightness of 5200 ANSI lumens and high contrast of 700: 1. That performance combined with the fact that it accepts a wide range of signals including digital signals means the VPL-FX51 can be used everywhere from large venue to meeting room applications. The VPL-FX51 can be mounted on a ceiling, on a floor, or installed in a rear projection system. In addition it can be combined with a choice of three optional lenses so it has the flexibility to be used in a wide range of environments. It is the benchmark model for multi-purpose installation projectors, while simultaneously offering sophisticated and effective features for presentations. The VPL-FX51 can be connected to a network and incorporated on the LAN. Users can control the VPL-FX51 remotely via the network, and they can receive emails from the projector, which contain status such as operating time of lamp, reminders for scheduled maintenance, and emergency notification. Content management made possible by the projector's networking capability include the ability for users to present files located anywhere on the connected network or users can use the on board memory to display presentations and files at ease with nothing but the projector's remote control unit. Brightness, contrast, a robust input panel, and the aggressive power of networking all add up to one phenomenal projector: the VPL-FX51.
