Manufacturer's product description
The TA-E9000ES A/V Control Amplifier offers state-of-the-art digital processing and the highest sound quality, all under the control of a sophisticated, but user-friendly, Bi-Directional Remote Commander. The amplifier features numerous proprietary components and technologies specially developed by Sony to provide uncompromised performance. The TA-E9000ES employs no less than three 32-bit digital signal processors (DSPs), including the latest SHARC chip which permits exceptionally accurate decoding of Dolby Digital, DTS and MPEG multi-channel soundtrack formats. The latest refinement of Digital Cinema Sound allows the TA-E9000ES to offer two greatly improved types of sound modes: Cinema Studio Modes and Virtual 3D Modes. The improvements were made possible thanks to the latest DSPs development. Also combination settings of both sound modes are now possible as the new DSPs offer a much higher calculation speed. As a result, the TA-9000ES is capable of recreating the exact characteristics of the original movie track in your living room, allowing you to hear the sounds just as the movie director intended. While the new version of Digital Cinema Sound has similar characteristics to the original version, the TA-9000ES allows the effects to be reproduced with more precision and expressiveness, bringing more subtlety and sophistication to the reproduction of stored sound fields, by now taking into account nuances such as wall and ceiling sound pressure components. The Virtual 3D modes allow the TA-E9000ES to re-create the multi-speaker, movie theater environment in a normal living room where space restrictions may not allow a large number of speaker boxes. The 'real cinema' effect can be generated from just one pair of conventional surround speakers in any five-speaker surround-sound configuration! In total the TA-E9000ES offers 27 DSP modes including several to optimize music-only reproduction. The one-bit D/A system features Advanced Pulse Conversion, which also powers Sony's acclaimed CD players and is noted for its low distortion in high frequencies. The Current-Pulse D/A Converter converts one-bit signal voltage data into a current pulse, to avoid varying low-frequency performance caused by impedance mismatches. Other audiophile features include 96kHz/24-bit signal compatibility on all coaxial digital inputs, plus a high-precision, two-chip Analog to Digital converter for all analog inputs. With its special center-loading transport mechanism and anti-resonance copper-plated chassis, the high-end DVP-S7700 DVD video player is the natural partner for the TA-E9000ES.
