Advantages Very Tiny, Light and Excelent Quality Disadvantages Only 1 GB, runs on AAA batteries
...The SonyNetworkWalkmanNW-E107L is one of the latest mp3 players launched by Sony, and is a great product. It holds 1GB of data or music. The NW-E105L is the same product just with 512 MB storage
The product is extremely light, weighing at only 26g. It is also really tiny only 5.5cm in diameter. Due to these too things it is easy to get lost, but doesn't take up much space so it is really handy.
You can pick one of these up £89 (same price as the iPod Shuffle), but you could pick one up cheaper on eBay or Amazon.
This product claims to play up to 70 hours, but I average around 45 hours which I feel is a really good amount. Unfortunately unlike the iPod this item does not have a built in rechargeable battery, so you will be spending money each time to top up your battery life and is a major downfall in this item...

Perfect for long trips

Advantages Battery life, size, weight Disadvantages No playlists
...This thing is tiny, I have no idea how they fit 1GB into it. 70 hours on one AAA battery is no exaggeration either. It's absolutely perfect for putting on and forgetting about for two weeks as you go about your life. Only potential downside is that it doesn't do playlists, so if you like having music to match your mood, or you're a fiddler, then it might not suit you. But if you're like me, just want to put it on and forget about it, then I could not recommend this highly enough.
Uploading is easy, listening is easy. There aren't many features on the player itself, but that's a bonus if you ask me, less complicated. Just push play and go....

Advantages Outstanding battery life. Disadvantages Headphones aren't so good.
...With up to 70 hours battery life this mp3 player is ahead of the rest, with very simple controls enabling you to skip through music files quickly. The only disadvantage is the headphones, mine started to play up after about a month. One of the ears kept going quiet, so I decided to change headphones. Now the performance is better than ever. Using Sonicstage software is also very simple, you just transfer you songs into a library and then into your player. With ATRAC3plus software you can fit a much larger number of songs in than conventional mp3 files, because the songs are compressed smaller than mp3. I have currently got 300 songs on my player and it isn't even half full. Overall you are getting a great package at a great price, backed up by the reliability and quality of Sony products....
