The MDS-JA555ES is designed to make the use of the Sony's latest version of ATRAC, the enabling technology for the whole MiniDisc format. ATRAC DSP Type-R is designed to make the most efficient use of the storage space on the tiny discs and thus provide the best possible sound quality. Operation is as slick as you expect when you see the Sony name. The disc-drawer raises the MD slightly as it opens, for easier access. The remote control has lots of functions to simplify your interactions with this unit. This is a striking example of the MiniDisc art and will be able to hold its head up with pride.
