I remember when I first borrowed these headphones from a friend of mine... and in anticipation for a 3 week Australia trip I was taking that summer, knew these were the headphones I HAD to have... this was in 2001. You see all these bulky, ear-hugging so called great sounding headphones for the best portable performance... when it just isn't the case.
Now I'm the type of person who doesn't go for that intense bass sound... I'm sorry, but I actually want to hear my music when I have it on. Being a music oriented person in general, I wanted the type of headphones that delivered a clear pure sound well enough to hear every type of sound produced in your track. It's the main reason why I purchased these way back then.
The best feature though in my opinion, is the fact that the actual "speaker" is contoured to hug the inner portion of your ear and actually produce the sound "in" your ear for the full sound, as supposed to surrounding your entire ear. I'm sure when listening with other headphones you'll have the volume a level high enough for your enjoyment... at the cost of the annoyance of others probably asking you to turn it down because they can hear it as well. Not the case with these headphones. The volume can be set at any setting without bothering those around you, including those sitting next to you in a car to which I can personally vouch. Also, with it's slim design, it's almost as if you aren't wearing any at all.
Headphones are meant for your OWN personal enjoyment, and with these, that is exactly what you experience with an authentic sound that you'll quickly appreciate.
