Hi, I'm using the Sony Ericsson W880i for over 6 months now and had to switch to a new phone just a couple days before because my Sony Ericsson got broken completely.
But let me start from the very beginning…
To be fair, I have to admit that both, the size and the stylish design of the Sony Ericsson W880i are just great and deliberate. And the walkman functionality is quite comfortable as well, as you don't have to carry 2 things anymore in your bag, mp3 player and cell phone at the same time now. The time to upload your songs might take quite a while though…
But on the other hand, there are a couple of aspects, which make me rate this phone rather poor:
First of all, the design is good looking but also, the keypad buttons are quite small and tiny and I had some real problems writing messages and typing in phone numbers at the beginning.
Also, the phone reception is incredibly poor, even in places where I never had problems before (at home!!!), I couldn't make reasonable calls too often. In combination with the missing speaker quality here, it was sometimes impossible use the phone at all (at least for its primary use).
The phone is equipped with a 2 megapixel camera which is fine at daytime. As it lacks any flashlight, all pictures taken at night are not easy to recognize, but here I wouldn't expect too much from a cell phone anyway. For these cases, there are lots of great and small digital cameras on the market these days. For snapshots, the Sony Ericsson W880i is always a good substitute here.
But the most critical issue has been, that after only half a year of normal use, the ring tone is not working any longer now without any apparent external impact (and no, I did not disable it accidentally!!!). And even if the size and the design is strongly convincing here, what use makes a cell phone without a ring tone?
So, I finally returned to well-known and beloved Nokia again ;-)
