Sony CDP-XA7ES CD player features Fixed Pickup Laser Tracking for exceptional freedom from vibration, superlative tracking, and vanishingly low error rates. Sony's laser pickup is stationary while the spindle and disc move on a motor-driven sled. Full Feed Forward Digital Filter with 3-stage oversampling reduces requantizing noise; filter uses 8x oversampling, 45-bit internal processing and 20-bit outputs. Current Pulse Digital-to-Analog Converter uses highly accurate current source for greater precision than voltage sources, greater immunity to power supply voltage fluctuations. Direct Digital Sync circuitry minimizes the time-base errors called "jitter" for cleaner, more transparent musical frequencies. Digital Servo Control of tracking, laser focus and disc rotation permits higher precision, lower radiated noise. Twin Toroidal Core Power Transformers reduce radiated hum for analog and digital and protect sensitive analog circuits from power-supply induced digital noise. FET Analog Amplifier for lower odd-order harmonic distortion provides cleaner, more "open" sound. Ultra-Rigid Frame & Beam Construction reduces the spread of chassis vibrations.
