Sharp's CD-BA200 is a stereo compact system that boasts a formidable 200 watts of total power output. It consists of a three-disc CD changer, a dual-well cassette deck with full-logic controls, an AM/FM digital tuner and two 4-way speakers. The speakers are run in a bi-amplified system; i.e., a 120-watt amp runs the built-in subs, while an 80-watt amp runs the midrange/tweeter arrays. From a convenience standpoint, this unit has all the bells and whistles you'd expect. The CD player offers 32-track programming, and the tuner sports a 40-station programmable memory. This unit also includes bass boost (X-bass) and a six-mode, pre-programmed equalizer. One of the CD-BA200's most noteworthy connectivity options is the optical digital output. It'll allow you to record to a MiniDisc player or other optical digital input-equipped device entirely in the digital domain, which should translate into clean-sounding dubs.
