I work for a medical billing service I am the team leader for the scanning dept for this company. When I started working there about 7 yrs ago we were using this small scanner, at that time using the small scanners were ok but as the company grew in size so did the medical records & correspondence that needed to be scanned so the company decided to change the little scanners for the much larger ones that scan several hundred pages per mintue. Advantages: very fast
Disadvantages: noisy

I work for a medical billing service as a scanner & I use this document scanner every single day, this scanner scans a few hundred pages per minute very fast if you have a very large volume of medical records as this company does. We can scan abiut 3000 to 4000 medical records in an 8 hour period. I've had two of these same scanners, the first one I really really loved it; That baby would load fast and there wasn't a long waiting time in between loads; after several years of use though and I do mean a lot of USE, it eventually one day died on me, too much use... They don't even carry this type of scanner anymore at Walmart I don't know about other retail stores but most things are the 3 in 1 you know printer, scanner, and fax machines now; ...
