The Saturday Night Fever soundtrack brought great attention to the BeeGees, just as the Saturday Night Fever movie made John Travolta an American heartthrob.
It was 1977, and disco was hot. Every girl lusted for John Travolta, and every male envied him. Dance floors everywhere were crowded with polyester clad bodies dancing to music from this incredible soundtrack. The music was captivating and it indeed ignited a fever in discos across America.
... ...not like. To me, Saturday Night Fever is one of those rare finds where I like every cut on the album.
Thirty one years later, the movie is still occasionally shown on television, and these songs can still be heard on the radio. When listening to this music, I can close my eyes and go back to a time when I lived for Saturday Night. I definitely had the fever. ...

Advantages: Great Storylines, fabulous soundtrack Disadvantages: Dont look to long at the clothes - haha
In my eyes, Saturday Night Fever should be considered a classic for the era in which it evolved. Not only because of the music soundtrack which was one of the best compilations on an album in a long while, and brought the Bee Gees to the forefront of the Music scene at that time. The movie also brought John Travolta into the spotlight as an actor, showcasing his abilities as both a performer, as well as an actor. Before this he was but Vinnie Barbarino, ... ...this not been a success, Grease may never have come to him and maybe he is not what he is today. Finally though i think it should be considered a classic because of how the different storylines that evolved in the story spelled out what it meant to grow up in the late 70's and in the so-called Disco Era. Sure the 70's might not include some of the problems we had now, but the movie displayed how discos served as a place for people to release the ...

Advantages The music is the best Disadvantages The movie is worst
...It is one of the best soundtrack speccially with the Bee Gees music like "SaturdayNightFever", "Stayin Alive", "More than a Woman" for example and groups as Kool and The Gang "These boots are made for walking" or The tramps" with the Disco Inferno that is a seven- minute music, in my own opinion I like it because I dance when I was a child and was a part of the best songs of the ends of the seventies. With this movie, The Bee Gees makes so famous.
About the picture besides of the music it is the worse movie that I've ever watched because it don't have practically an argument, only that There will be a dancing contest in Studio 54 with the Bee Gees song and the whole soundtrack that I talk lines up.
The starring is John Travolta who plays Tony Manero that is a waiter in a Pizza Reutarant by the day, and in the Night a dancer that he...

Advantages great discomusic to move you bootie to Disadvantages not for the lover of dramatic, thematicaly composed musicals
...A party CD for every SaturdayNight you have! Sway your hips to the classic BeeGee hits like Staying Alive, Disco Inferno, How Deep Is Your Love and Disco Inferno. The cd includes the songs as performed in the stage musical starring Adam Garcia (who has also recently starred in Wicked in London) in the role created by John Travolta in the film). The role of Stephanie is sung by Tara Wilkinson, showing a wide vocal range.
Adam and the cast do a great job at the songs, and for me the songs are more living in these versions than in the BeeGees pop versions. My personal favourite is the fourth track, It's My Neightbourhood with the ensemble getting into the groove. Also notable is How Deep Is Your Love, presented as a beautifull duet!
This is the kind of musical you can definatelly use as party music, as background music, as any music...

...humorous, and like to see the performances of the actors and actresses in groups.
Grease was one film in a set of three movies that John Travolta starred in for Paramount Pictures. In 1977 he starred in SaturdayNightFever, 1978 in Grease, and in 1980 he starred in Urban Cowboy. These three movies were all big hits, had successful soundtrack releases, and showcased Travolta's talent as an actor, and a dancer. They made John Travolta a household name.
The Grease soundtrack has been popular for 30 years, and in my opinion will remain popular for many more years to come....

...appeared in over 50 movies. He has come a long way since his Sweathog days. My favorite John Travolta movies are Urban Cowboy, Pulp Fiction, and Face Off. Let's don't forget SaturdayNightFever and Grease. Again, this list could go on forever.
6) Richard Gere - What a talent! I have been a big fan of his for many years. My favorite movies for Richard Gere are Unfaithful, Officer and a Gentleman, Intersection, Primal Fear, American GIgolo.... Gosh, just too many to list here.
7) Al Pacino - He is a great actor, and continues to get better with age. My favorite movies are Scarface, Dog Day Afternoon, Carlito's Way and The Godfather. He has recently released Righteous Kill.
8) Denzel Washington - You can be guaranteed a good movie when Denzel Washington is in it. My favorites movies are John Q, and Remember the Titans.
