I bought this Sanyo color television for my youngest son for his birthday three years ago. There was always a constant battle over video games and television time. Having his own TV in his bedroom seemed the best solution.
This TV has a 24" screen which makes it great for video games and television viewing. It came with a remote control and was very easy to set up the channels. We were able to set the language and adjust color and brightness with the settings on the TV, using the remote. The picture quality is average. No complaints from my son. It suits his needs perfectly. It only has one speaker that is located in the front towards the left below the screen. This is sufficient for his use of it which is television viewing and video games.
One thing I don't like about this TV is that the A/V jacks are in the front. (Audio/Visual) You can use these to hook up video games and cam-corders. But then you have the cables right there. Not sure why they do that either; it annoys me. Again, my son doesn't care!
It also has a sleep timer that my son puts to good use. My bedroom is right next to his and I recall days gone by when his television was on all night. The sound was adjusted when he first started watching TV and then was VERY LOUD in the night when the info-mercials came on. He was fast asleep and I was woken up. Not anymore! I make him set his sleep timer so it goes off at a reasonable time.
Another thing that bothers me about this TV is that the back of it sticks out about 24 inches, making this a difficult television to place just anywhere in the house. His bedroom is very small and without a corner table, this Sanyo doesn't fit in his room. Maybe you can see what I mean in the picture that shows the back. It is also heavy and awkward to move. Nothing fancy about the design.
For now the TV is in the den. We are moving to a bigger house in about one month and this television will go back into my son's bedroom. If I am recalling correctly, I paid under $200.00 for it. He's happy with it and that's what I bought it for! I think it is a good TV to have for that extra room, kids room, den. Perfect for video games.
It suits my son's needs when in use and I believe it was well worth the price.
