...Firstly, the main thing that has to be mentioned about this mp3 player is that it is superb value for money. 512MB allows roughly 8 hours playback (mp3) and 16 hours (wma). To non music fanatics that is more than sufficient to get through a normal day listening to music during a jog/run or on a monotonous bus journey.
It also must be mentioned that it has an FM radio function with 20 preset stations. Also has voice recording function for memos and such.
The LCD backlight completely does it's job. Battery life good as well, about 9 hours on mid volume range.
Pretty easy to use, on most modern computers it's a simple plug and play job to transfer files on and off. USB 2.0 means high speed file transfers. Quite light as well and easy functionality on the go.

...are out and about. The standard headphones, which are supplied, are rubbish; I recommend binning them and buy some decent ones to really appreciate this player.
Usability
This is one of the easiest and convenient to use mp3 players I have had the pleasure of owning. User-friendly menu, which is easy to navigate, and simple to use. Transferring files, sorting songs and creating playlists are simple to do. There is a shuffle option. The only niggle with this player is the fact that it will ONLY work with XP. The M230 does not support anything pre windows XP or MACS.
Other Features
Stopwatch - useful for runners or sports persons.
Radio - Great reception and you can get all of your favourite radio stations. However you cannot record from the radio to mp3.
Recorder - simple voice recorder, record yourself or other with this handy tool...
