...I wanted a smaller mobile phone than the old flip phone and the Samsung SGH-X830 sure fits the bill. My Mum bought me this phone for my birthday and she paid £130 for it, which I have to say considering the first one went wrong in the first 2 months was not very good value for money. It is a really small phone that slides round to open. A lot of my friends at first thought it was a MP3 player, which of course is one of the many functions this phone has, but first and formost it is a mobile phone. The features include: ~ GSM 900/1800/1900 MHz ~ MP3/AAC/AAC+/e-AAC+/WMA player ~ Video player ~ Flight mode ~ 1.3 Megapixel camera ~ GPRS, EDGE ~ SMS, EMS, MMS ~ 64 channels polyphony I must say that even though I love the look of the phone, I have already had 2 replacements and phone number 3 is now on the way out... ...The best thing about the Samsung SGH X830 is its appearance; unfortunately, the praise for this rather small phone ends there. The mp3 player is far to quiet as are the ringtones and the sounds provided with the phone clumsy and childish. The screen is far too small and narrow, even for those with perfect eyesight and the small buttons hard to use. The swivel is one of the nice touches of the phone adding character and is relatively easy to use. Although initially the two-column set up of the buttons is confusing after only a few hours you will be texting just as fast as you did previously. When I first purchased the phone one of my friends commented that she 'would find it annoying' and surprisingly I do not. Despite all the phones faults it really does have some good assets. ...What can i say about the SGH-X830, I have always stuck to samsung for my mobile phones as its a brand i trust. or at least i did till i got this phone. I use pay monthly so i get an upgrade every year and when i saw the tiny pink SGH-X830 i had to have it, it looked so different and stylish and colour screen too. It has a great mp3 player, camera, video and also bluetooth however... The buttons are too close together making it difficult to text and even dial numbers. It doesnt seem very strong, i dropped it and it got a huge chip and also the circular button does not work anymore making it difficlut to access things quickly. The camera (which doesnt have a flash) is not very good qualitty. The ring tones arent very loud so i often miss calls tho it does enable you to download songs from your pc which makes it good...
