I have always been someone that was very cautious with their money when it comes to be money purchases, so when my wife decided that we needed to make a purchase for our bedroom in the television arena; I was understandably a little leery. After all, she was looking for a flat screen, HD type box, and everything I have ever seen screamed this was going to be expensive. I spent sometime doing research that I hope would bring us a quality box at a fair price. Did the research pay off? Let's take a look.

I am glad to say, in my eyes, it appears we made the right decision. That's not to say that this set is perfect, because it does have one or two things that I think could be tweaked, but by and by, it has been outstanding thus far.

One of the first things that struck me about this TV was the fact that I had more than enough places to plug in all of my gizmos when it came time. This has been one of my important things to look at as I have had a number of TV's that when it came time to hookup the DVD/VCR, Surround System, Video Game, and other assorted do-dads, the set came up short and I would have to rig something up to make everything work. It even had 3 HD Inputs which not being a tech of TV's I thought was very cool. So all systems plugged up and operational. Check!

Another positive was the screen itself. At least I think it is anyway. I had read some other reviews before I purchased it that complained about this feature, but I found that it was easily worked with. The screen itself is very reflective, and that is also the case with what I call the outer casing around the screen. We had two possible locations for our TV in the room, and the first one turned out to be problematic because the sunlight coming in from the window caused added reflection. We moved it to our second location though and this issue was gone.

This reflective screen, as it turns out, for my money is one of its best features. Why you ask? Well the reason is because that reflective screen makes the picture look like one produced from a top of the line plasma type TV, as opposed to an LCD box. This was a tremendous bonus.

Price was also another little surprise. I had priced similar boxes that were retailing for close to 2000 dollars at other outlets, but we were able to pick this one up for only 1300, and then subtracted another 300 for gift cards. Are you kidding me? This TV for 1000 bucks. We could not beat that.

Another feature that I have found with Samsung, and was no different on this box, was that you have every setting you can want to get the picture just the way you want it. This is important because I think everyone's taste is different. What you see at the store, and what comes right out of the box is either setup up to the highest settings, or back to factory specs. With this TV, we are able to tweak the settings to get the perfect color, contrast, and brightness that you desire.

The last feature that sold me on this box was during the setup of my additional equipment, the Samsung gives you the ability to label your equipment within the setup, so that when your going through the settings looking to change things, you know exactly which device you are changing settings for. Except for not having a label for the Blu ray device, which i am sure will be remedied at some point, I felt this was a superb add in that I had not seen on other boxes.

In short, folks I really think that Samsung put out a winner with this one. If your leery like me of spending your hard earned money on a lemon, fear not, because this one is well worth the cash!
