...I recently purchased this new samsung DVD player as it is the in thing and i like to keep up with technology and the likes. I was quite happy with the player generally, picture quality was fine, the multi-region support was good and sound and the dolby digital settings were easily changeable and easy to set up initially. Installation was simple and it comes witha funky little remote control that looks like something off a sci fi movie! Anyway, all in all I would reccommend this DVD player to any persons new in the market.... Read review

...I bought this player because I wanted a machine with Multi-Region support and a built in Dolby Digital decoder. It is by far the cheapest player I could find with these features and I have been very impressed with it. The build quality is really good, it is very easy to set up and use and it has some useful setup options to get the most out of the surround sound. The multi-region capability works very well, I have bought dozens of region 1 and 2 discs and experienced no problems. The picture quality is good and the sound is excellent. It could however do with a scart socket, although it does have S-Video output and dozens of different sound outputs including an optical line out for minidisc recording. All in all, this is an excellent player for a great price and I would recommend it to anyone starting out in the DVD game.... Read review

...'ve typed out the multi-region hack below - This hack also works on the Thomson DTH-3600, DTH-4000, DTH-4200 and DTH-4500 models, along with the Samsung DVD-709, DVD-809, DVD-909, DVD-511, DVD-611, DVD-811 and Hitachi DV-P305e On various Samsung models this hack will also disable Macrovision, but you have to turn off the Quasi-PAL option and set the SCART output type to Video rather than RGB. Always perform a Cold Start before applying the hack below 1. Power on your player 2. Press and hold both the Play and Stop buttons on the player 3. After a short while you should be presented with a set of language options. Release the Play and Stop buttons on the player 4.
