I also had a HP cam, but one day it stopped working so I purchased this one because it was on sale. This cam worked great for me. It was very easy to install and now I can do some personal videos, chat with video and it works with a lot of software installed in my computer. The cam came with a CD with drivers and software. I currently own this webcam and I have been using it for a while. I use it almost every day to talk to my friends that live in flordia. Whats cool about this webcam is that not only is it just a webcam, it has a built in microphone so the people can actually hear you. I've owned this webcam coming up to a year, and is still in perfect working order. Can't fault the money worth's, in which i've had through purchasing this Logitech Built in Speaker webcam. It's great for using MSN especialy video chat, has there is no need to be using headsets!!! So again you be saving money. And also the webcam is cheap to buy. The picture quality is amazing, has being so clear and giving you that perfect video call to your friends all over the world.
