Recently bought this camera for a birthday gift to myself and I find it to be an excellent digital camera for novice photographers. I love the software that comes with it because it is very involved in teaching you how to properly crop, enhance and retouch your photos. It includes a smart chip you can remove to have a photo center process your prints, or you can just upload selected photos to an online photo center. Since it it is reasonably priced, most parents would be willing to get this for a child who has an interest in taking pictures for those memorable moments.
