...have bought a few older canon telephoto lenses for it as they are cheaper than the SLR lenses and these work great and are a lot cheaper. I chose this over the Nikon D80 as it was a bit less expensive and had more features. The auto-clean feature is nice as well. I am a fine artist who uses the Rebel XTI to shoot photographs of my large scale paintings. The color and overall contrast of each image is superb. I then upload the images into photoshop and make size adjustments and rarely have to make color corrections. It is a great camera and worth every penny. This is a great camera for the price. It is not by any means a professional camera, but it is perfect for a photo enthusiast / ameatur photographer. The kit lens is acceptable, but it is cheap and I would recommend that anyone wanting to take serious pictures, aspiring to be a professional or entering contests should spend the money to upgrade it right away. Purchased the Canon EOS Digital Rebel this past fall. It has been a great camera. It is durable, intuitive and the pictures are of the highest quality. Even my 4 year old can use it, but, I have limited her to using the old pentax digital we retired as a result of this purchase! Good Luck! Bob2008
